Typepad: Think About Upgrading Your Blog (Gilman Blog 2.0)

This is the very, very first Gilman blog post using Typepad.

Why the change? Yes, you're right. Absolutely nothing wrong with the blogging tool that saw us through 2008. Perhaps the best of all, phase one of the Gilman blog (made possible by the fine folks at Nucleus - special thanks to Chris - it was a bumpy start) didn't cost us a single nickel out of pocket.

No, we didn't just feel like paying for a Typepad based blog because we felt like unnecessarily spending some dough, although we are doing our best to keep this economy going. It went down like this: we used a free tool to see if blogging was something that Gilman could maintain and find some value in. We knew blogging was good, but would it be good for us. The answer was "yes." So, now we're moving on to a more dynamic tool, a tool that can be used to benefit Gilman clients and all of the other inquisitive minds out there.

Of course, Typepad is not the only game in town. There are  number of quality service providers in that arena, so do some research (or read a future post on this blog to see how/why we chose Typepad). But, above all leverage free business tools, and give kudos to the exceptional folks who make and support then, but recognize that You get what you pay for.
