How exactly do the shopping habits of higher income shoppers at Walmart differ from lower income shoppers? One might think that higher income shoppers at the mega chain go straight to food and consumables, which happen to be Walmart's lowest margin categories.
According to a recent Reuters article, Bill Simon noted that higher income shoppers have been browsing more of the store lately and purchasing a wider range of products from Walmart than they used to. Here, high income shoppers seem to be warming up to Walmart's efforts to maintain clean stores and focus on a broader range of name brands.
Simon also explaind that Walmart has advanced its supply chain to accomodqate faster delivery of fresh produce products to Walmart stores.
