Reported by Newstimes.com, Cannondale Bicycle Corp recalled 7 models of its road bikes, due to missing wheel safety guards. The company, a division of Dorel Industries, Inc., launched the recall based on federal safety requirements.
With about 1,300 units in question, it is believed that most units already have the requisite part, a "spoke protector." The part prevents the drive chain from interfering with or stopping the wheel.
The recalled bikes were manufactured in Taiwan, shipped in October and sell at prices from $1,500 to $2,100.
